Barcelona, Spain – Part 1

Move over, thirty-somethings. The sixty-somethings have arrived (Alexis’ mom, MaryLou, guest blogger, and dad, Ed). Barcelona is a city best seen on foot, and Alexis and Jon (A&J), having been there 6 years ago, showed us why they fell in love with it.

Vienna, Austria

I’ve been to Vienna once before in 2004. I remember it as charming, with beautiful architecture, wide streets, and outdoor cafes. In the past 11 years, the tourist areas seem to have become more crowded and designer stores now line the streets instead of cafes, but the architecture remains.

My first notion that the DC area had more to offer than we sometimes realize was in 2011 and Jon and I took several day trips around the tri-state searching for wedding venues.…

Charlottesville / Shenandoah, VA

As much as Jon and I love to travel, we often overlook nearby places. This Labor Day (2013) we took a last minute road trip down towards Charlottesville, VA, Shenandoah National Park, and Luray. University of Virginia campus in Charlottesville Because it was spur of the moment, we only started to plan our trip on…
